Umatilla County and Oregon Health Authority are hosting community forums about domestic well water and nitrate levels. These forums are open to the public. This is a great opportunity for those with domestic wells to ask questions and get information. These meetings include free dinner and school supplies. See fliers for more info.
We have bus route information ready! Not much is changing for K-5 students, though there are fewer stops on the west side of town. Students in grades 6-12 should review the route information to determine eligibility. Routes are subject to change as staffing levels change. We are still hiring bus drivers! $20/hr with full benefits and a minimum of 4 paid hours a day or $26/hr without benefits and a minimum of 4 paid hours a day. Our bus fleet was purchased brand new in 2021 and our bus garage was built in 2022. Parents, we have some exciting news! Stanfield Elementary and Stanfield Secondary School have both qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision. This means that all enrolled students will receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at NO CHARGE to your household each day of the 2023-2024 school year. Please read the attached letter for more information.
It has been 2 years since Stanfield School District began a district-owned and operated transportation department. We have been so fortunate to have reliable, experienced drivers who love serving our students and getting them to and from school safely each day.
We are looking at creative ways to maintain the level of transportation service we have been providing for the last 2 years. We are working really hard to avoid shrinking routes or enforcing the “Walk Zone”. Those students in grades K-8 who live within 1 mile of the school would be ineligible for bus transportation. High school students who live within 1.5 miles would be ineligible.
We have had two driver positions posted and advertised all summer and are competing for drivers in a very tough market.
