On Monday, November 15th at 3pm, the district was notified about a gas leak in the area of Coe and Hwy 395 in the center of Stanfield. We made sure our bus drivers were aware and let them know to expect delays. At 3:20pm, we were told that traffic was being detoured and parts of town near the leak were being evacuated. We utilized our messaging platforms (the Remind app and our website's text messaging software) to communicate with parents that bus drop-off would be delayed for some riders. Our bus drivers coordinated with each other and with local police to safely route students home. This unanticipated event is a good reminder for us all to ensure that families have up-to-date information on file.
